Composer

Swanee's musical composition, the “Witness Cantata,” is structured in the tradition of “the seven last words of Christ”—actually seven passages gleaned from gospel accounts of Jesus on the cross. It combines her words with those of Anna Akhmatova, Theodore Roethke, William Blake, and Elie Wiesel.
